Zinedine Zidane, the former Real Madrid manager, has turned down a lucrative one-year coaching offer from Saudi Arabia worth €100 million.
According to L’Équipe, Zidane’s ambition is to take charge of the France national football team.

Current France coach Didier Deschamps is expected to step down after the 2026 FIFA World Cup, and Zidane is widely considered a leading candidate to succeed him.

The ex-France international also reportedly declined a previous chance to replace Marcelino at Marseille.
France captain Kylian Mbappé recently expressed his enthusiasm about the possibility of Zidane becoming the national team manager. Mbappé said,
“I no longer have to prove my love for [Zinedine] Zidane. If he arrives [to the France national team], it would be a great pleasure. I’d be extremely happy but it is not my decision.”
Mbappé has just returned to the France squad after a period away.
