As I lay on the bed this morning, my past flashed before me.

Looking back on the journey of my life, how I started, where I started from, the struggles, the pain, and the countless nights of uncertainty, crying my eyes out, asking God, When? When will I meet up to standards in my chosen career? After realizing I had been blacklisted in my career and jobs had stopped coming, life felt hopeless.
Hmmmm! The times I had to wear less so my children could eat and look good in our own little way, one thing God blessed me with is contentment. I didn’t envy or crave what I couldn’t afford, and I never faked it. I wore my Ankara fabrics with pride and lived in the area I could afford, trusting that God would come through for me one day. And He did come! I can’t help but marvel at how far God has brought me. 🙏
Oh, I can’t forget the days my kids were sent home for unpaid school fees because I wasn’t working or earning enough. All I had then was my acting career, which had come to a standstill. Being blacklisted in the industry forced me to venture into business, and with the help of a Godsent, my business became my pathway out of poverty.
Meeting my own Godsent was a true definition of the Yoruba adage, “Bi a o ri eni bala, ola kii ya boro,” which means, “Without a destiny helper, breakthrough might be delayed.” I remain eternally grateful to God and to the soul He used to change my story.
I am a living testimony that no matter how tough it gets, God never fails anyone who puts their trust in Him.
I’m not there yet, but for God to bring me this far, I know I will surely reach that stage I dreamed of. Amen
