Borussia Dortmund forward Karim Adeyemi has opened up about why he decided to represent Germany instead of Nigeria.
Born in Munich, Germany, to a Nigerian father and a Romanian mother, the 23-year-old was eligible to play for Germany, Nigeria, and Romania. However, Adeyemi ultimately chose Germany.
“It’s a difficult question. I get asked this a lot by my father,” the former Red Bull Salzburg player told Oma Sports. “The German Football Association made me an offer, and I had a good feeling there. In the end, I had to play for Germany. It’s really as simple as that.”
