The quarter-final lineup for the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) has been officially confirmed following the conclusion of the group stage matches in Morocco.

This year’s tournament, hosted across cities like Rabat, Casablanca, and Marrakesh, has seen some thrilling encounters and standout performances, with eight teams now set to battle for a spot in the semi-finals — and, importantly, qualification for the 2025 FIFA Women’s World Cup playoffs.

Here are the confirmed WAFCON 2024 quarter-final fixtures:

  1. Nigeria vs Cameroon
📍 Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium, Rabat
    📅 Friday, July 19, 2024
🕔 Kick-off: 7:00 PM (GMT) A fierce West African rivalry, with nine-time champions Nigeria aiming to continue their title defense against a determined Cameroonian side.
  2. Morocco vs Senegal
    📍 Stade Moulay Hassan, Rabat
    📅 Friday, July 19, 2024
🕔 Kick-off: 10:00 PM (GMT) Host nation Morocco, semi-finalists in 2022, will face Senegal, who are seeking to reach their first-ever WAFCON semi-final.
  3. South Africa vs Ghana
    📍 Stade Mohamed V, Casablanca
    📅 Saturday, July 20, 2024
🕔 Kick-off: 7:00 PM (GMT) Defending champions South Africa meet a resurgent Ghanaian team in what promises to be a heavyweight clash.
  4. Zambia vs Tunisia
    📍 Grand Stade de Marrakesh
    📅 Saturday, July 20, 2024
🕔 Kick-off: 10:00 PM (GMT) Zambia, semi-finalists in the previous edition, look to overcome Tunisia as they continue their impressive rise in African women’s football.

Key Notes:

  • The winners of each quarter-final will not only advance to the semi-finals but also earn automatic qualification to the 2025 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Switzerland.
  • VAR will be in use from the quarter-final stage onwards.
  • The WAFCON 2024 final is scheduled for Saturday, July 27, at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat.
