Super Eagles striker Victor Boniface has addressed the perception that he’s rude, attributing it to the savage memes he shares on social media.
In a recent episode of The Culture League podcast, the Bayer Leverkusen star clarified that his online posts are simply a form of self-expression, not disrespect.

“People often assume I’m rude just because I post savage memes, but that’s not who I am,” Boniface said. “I would never insult anyone unless provoked. Some of us have a bit of ‘craziness’ built in, but it takes something to bring it out. I’m generally calm.”

Boniface also pointed out that footballers are often misunderstood because of the unique demands of their profession, which limit how they can behave publicly compared to others.
“There’s this misconception that footballers are arrogant or unfriendly because we don’t mingle like people in other fields. The public expects us to act like other celebrities, but there are things entertainers can do that we simply can’t. When we don’t act that way, people misread it as being rude,” he added.
The striker has previously faced criticism over his social media activity but insists he’s just being himself.
