Arsenal defender William Saliba has issued a warning to Premier League rivals about the Gunners’ new striker Viktor Gyokeres, describing him as “scary” to play against.
Gyokeres joins Arsenal from Sporting CP in a deal worth €63.5 million (£54.8m), with an additional €10 million (£8.6m) in potential add-ons. He becomes the club’s sixth signing of the summer, following the arrivals of Kepa Arrizabalaga, Christian Norgaard, Noni Madueke, Martin Zubimendi, and Cristhian Mosquera.

The 27-year-old forward could make his first appearance in Arsenal colours during their pre-season friendly against Tottenham on Thursday, although manager Mikel Arteta has suggested fans may need to be patient for his debut.

Speaking to Hayters TV, Saliba expressed his excitement about the new addition:
“We know how good he is — it’s scary to play against him. Of course, I’m so happy to have him at my club. I’m sure he will help us win games and trophies.”
