Tiger Woods, the American professional golfer, has suffered a new injury setback.
The 49-year-old is now facing another extended break from the PGA Tour and is uncertain for the upcoming major season after rupturing his Achilles tendon.
In a tweet on X this Tuesday, the former world No. 1 shared:
“As I began to ramp up my training and practice at home, I felt a sharp pain in my left Achilles, which was diagnosed as a rupture.
“This morning, Dr. Charlton Stucken from the Hospital for Special Surgery in West Palm Beach, Florida, performed a minimally invasive procedure to repair the ruptured tendon.
“I’m now back home and will focus on my recovery and rehab. Thank you for all the support.”
Woods’ last appearance in an official PGA Tour event was in July. In recent years, he has played a limited schedule due to ongoing injuries.
