Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim is personally footing the bill for multiple members of his coaching and support staff — and their families — to attend the upcoming Europa League final against Tottenham Hotspur, according to reports from The Athletic and ESPN.
In contrast to previous traditions, Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s cost-cutting measures reportedly include scrapping complimentary tickets for club employees. Instead, staff have been invited to a watch party in Manchester, where they’ll receive two drinks vouchers.
Amorim, however, has taken matters into his own hands. The Portuguese manager is said to have paid for travel and accommodation for up to two guests per person for 30 staff members, including coaches, physios, and other lower-paid backroom personnel. This gesture mirrors the perks afforded to first-team players, who each received two complimentary tickets for the final in Bilbao on May 21.

Should United beat Spurs, celebrations will be subdued. While Tottenham have planned a trophy parade in the event of a win, United will opt for a modest barbecue at the training ground, reflecting a disappointing domestic season.
Under Amorim, United have won just six of 25 Premier League matches, averaging 0.96 points per game — a drop from Erik ten Hag’s 1.22-point average before his dismissal. Amorim has openly expressed his frustration: “How a manager of Manchester United is supposed to feel in that position – embarrassed. It’s hard to accept. I think everybody has to think seriously about a lot of things here.”
