Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford has revealed he would be open to a move to Barcelona and is particularly excited about the idea of playing alongside teenage sensation Lamine Yamal.
The 27-year-old, who spent the second half of last season on loan at Aston Villa, is currently training in Spain ahead of Manchester United’s pre-season, amid growing speculation about his future at Old Trafford.

In an interview with Spanish influencer Javi Ruiz, Rashford was asked about the prospect of teaming up with Yamal. He responded:
“Yes, for sure. Everyone wants to play with the best. Hopefully… we’ll see.”

Yamal, just 17, played a crucial role in Barcelona’s domestic double and their run to the Champions League semi-finals last season. He also starred in Spain’s Euro 2024 triumph.
Rashford praised the young forward, saying:
“[It is] difficult to put into words what he is doing. He is not supposed to be doing that at 16 or 17. We’ve not seen that before. It’s a skill to be able to play at that age with such a mentality.”
Reports from April suggested Rashford sees his future at United as uncertain under new manager Ruben Amorim, who dropped him from the squad in December before sanctioning his loan move to Villa.
Barcelona’s sporting director Deco has previously confirmed the club’s admiration for both Rashford and Liverpool’s Luis Díaz. However, any formal approach may be complicated by the club’s tight financial restrictions.
Barça recently reached an agreement with Athletic Bilbao winger Nico Williams, but La Liga’s strict ‘1:1 rule’—which limits spending to the club’s revenue—has delayed the completion of that deal.
Rashford, who has typically played on the left wing at United, also spoke about his evolving role as a central striker:
“The number nine position is becoming more natural for me. Playing with my back to goal is becoming easier. You’re closer to goal, so you’re always dangerous.”
