Aston Villa and Newcastle United have been fined for their involvement in a mass confrontation during their Premier League match at St James’ Park on December 26.
The incident occurred at half-time of Newcastle’s 3-0 victory, leading to the red cards of Newcastle’s assistant head coach Jason Tindall and Villa analyst Victor Manas.
The Football Association charged both clubs for failing to control their players and staff. After both sides admitted to the charges, an independent regulatory commission imposed a £30,000 fine on Villa and a £20,000 fine on Newcastle.
