Since joining Aston Villa in the January transfer window, Marcus Rashford has settled in well, but he’s already creating some issues for his new club.
The 27-year-old has shown flashes of the form that made him a fan favorite at Manchester United, and if he starts adding goals to his performances, manager Ruben Amorim might find himself facing some tough decisions.
While it was clear that Rashford wasn’t fully committed at United, leading to his exclusion from matchday squads, it’s also apparent that he wasn’t given much opportunity to prove himself. His departure seemed inevitable once the January transfer window opened.

Barcelona’s sporting director, Deco, even admitted the club had considered signing Rashford, though no deal materialized. Just a week ago, sources close to the player revealed that Rashford still hopes to secure a move to the Catalan giants.
Rashford’s excellent form is now causing problems for Villa, as well-connected scout Mick Brown told Football Insider that both Barcelona and Bayern Munich remain interested.
“I hear Barcelona and Bayern Munich are still keeping an eye on him,” Brown said. “If he continues performing at his best, it’s a win-win-win situation.”
“Villa wins by getting a top player for six months, Rashford wins by showcasing his talent and potentially securing a big move, and Manchester United wins by getting rid of one of their highest-paid players and avoiding an unhappy player.”
Brown added that with top clubs interested, Rashford’s value could rise, allowing United to maximize his sale price.
“If these clubs make their move, it will drive his value up,” Brown continued. “United will want to make as much money as possible, and having these top teams interested will certainly help.”
For everyone to benefit, Rashford needs to keep performing at a high level. According to Brown, “he’s certainly got enough in his locker, it’s just a matter of whether he can consistently reach that level.”
The expectation is clear: Rashford’s performances at Villa will determine his future. If he can deliver, both he and his clubs stand to gain significantly.
