Manchester United have reportedly offered Brentford forward Bryan Mbeumo a contract worth up to £200,000 per week, as they step up efforts to secure his signature ahead of the summer transfer window.
Initial reports suggested Mbeumo had asked for a £250,000 weekly wage after deciding to pursue a move to Old Trafford. The 22-cap Cameroon international is said to have turned down interest from Champions League side Newcastle United in favour of joining United under incoming manager Rúben Amorim.

According to The Mirror, United’s proposed deal starts at £150,000 per week, with performance-related add-ons potentially pushing it to £200,000 per week. The offer aligns with the club’s restructured wage system under INEOS’ leadership.

Mbeumo currently earns £45,000 a week at Brentford. While personal terms may be close to being agreed, United are yet to settle on a transfer fee with the west London club, who value the forward at £60 million. Brentford have already turned down an opening bid of £55 million.

United have reportedly held “extensive talks” with Mbeumo’s representatives over recent weeks, and the player is said to be keen on the move. However, Spurs could enter the race if their current manager Ange Postecoglou is replaced by Brentford’s Thomas Frank, who has been linked with the job.
Described as “phenomenal,” Mbeumo has been a key figure at Brentford since arriving in 2019. With the departures of Ollie Watkins, Saïd Benrahma, and Ivan Toney over the years, he has evolved into the club’s attacking leader. After a standout 2024/25 campaign, he is reportedly being lined up for a starting role on the right wing in Amorim’s reshaped Manchester United squad.
