Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes is expected to attract significant transfer interest from Saudi Pro League giants Al Hilal this summer, according to multiple reports.
Despite United enduring their worst-ever Premier League campaign, Fernandes has stood out as a key performer. The talismanic attacking midfielder is the team’s leading scorer and creates more goals and chances than any other player on the squad.

This consistent excellence amidst a collective downturn has caught the attention of other clubs. Fernandes revealed that he turned down transfer offers before committing to a new deal at United last summer. Earlier this season, there were rumors of interest from Real Madrid, and now, more concrete reports suggest that Al Hilal could make a move for the 30-year-old.

The Daily Mail reports that Al Hilal are preparing to make a “big-money offer” for Fernandes this summer. The reigning Saudi Pro League champions, who lost Neymar to Santos in January and failed to land Mohamed Salah from Liverpool, are reportedly rekindling their interest in Fernandes, which was first sparked last summer.
However, no formal bid has been made yet, and according to Fabrizio Romano, there has been no communication between the two clubs. Both outlets, however, emphasize that Fernandes is unlikely to leave.
Fernandes, whose contract runs until 2027 with the option for another year, is seen as virtually untouchable by United’s hierarchy. Even with Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s cost-cutting measures in place, which could make younger players like Kobbie Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho available for the right price, Fernandes remains in a different class.
Portuguese coach Ruben Amorim, who admires Fernandes’ qualities, has stated, “I would say, we need more Brunos. The character he has, his availability, and his decisiveness with and without the ball are so important.”
