Moyosore Afolabi, daughter of the late Nollywood actor Murphy Afolabi, has shared a touching moment she had with her father before his sudden death in 2023. In an emotional interview with JeffOwolewa TV, Moyosore recalled the last message she received from her dad, which now feels like a final goodbye.
She said, “He once told me, ‘I will miss you my daughter’ — I didn’t know that was a farewell.”
The young girl explained that she had sent a message to her father, telling him how much she missed him. In response, he sent back a voice note, assuring her that he would also miss her. Moyosore never thought those would be his last words to her.
Moyosore shared how the final time she saw her father was during the Ramadan season in 2023. They spent time together at his home, and everything seemed fine. Not long after he travelled, she was shocked to hear that he had passed away. She was heartbroken.
In the interview, she explained how her father had promised to support her education and always showed love in the little time they had together. She said he celebrated her birthday, paid her school fees, and even bought gifts for her and her sister.
Now left with only memories, Moyosore said her mother has taken on the full responsibility of caring for her, but it has not been easy. She praised her mother’s efforts and pleaded with the public to support her dream of furthering her education.
Her story has moved many Nigerians, especially fans of her late father, who was well-known in the Yoruba film industry.
