Real Madrid have reportedly instructed Kylian Mbappé to wear the iconic No. 10 shirt next season, according to L’Équipe.
The number became vacant following Luka Modrić’s departure to AC Milan on a free transfer earlier this summer.

While early reports suggested the shirt number could go to either Mbappé or rising star Arda Güler — who shone during the Club World Cup — it appears the club’s hierarchy has made the final call.

Mbappé was initially reluctant to give up the No. 9 jersey he wore after joining from Paris Saint-Germain. However, Real Madrid have now decided the French forward will inherit the No. 10 shirt as they prepare for the new campaign.
Mbappé impressed in his debut season, scoring 44 goals in all competitions and claiming both the Pichichi Trophy and the European Golden Boot.
