The victory puts Barcelona seven points clear at the top of the table with only two matches remaining, meaning Real Madrid can no longer catch them.
This triumph marks a superb domestic treble for Barcelona, adding to their Spanish Super Cup and Copa del Rey victories. It is also their second La Liga title in the past six years.
Although Barcelona could have sealed the title on Wednesday, Real Madrid’s dramatic 95th-minute winner against Mallorca delayed the celebration.
