The Thespian revealed how, even till now, he seizes every opportunity to beg for her forgiveness, moments he claimed Olu Jacobs once witnessed firsthand.
Nollywood veteran Ebun Oloyede popularly known as Olaiya Igwe has revealed how a thoughtless decision almost ruined his bond with top gospel singer Tope Alabi.
Speaking in a recent interview on Baba Ibe TV, he disclosed that the incident happened years ago when he bought a luxury car for one of his movies but unfortunately it was stolen, averred that luck was on his side as the car was later retrieved.
According to him this was around the time Tope Alabi and her husband Soji were preparing for their wedding. Olaiya said the excited couple paid him a visit and pleaded with him to release the car to them as their official wedding ride and he agreed without hesitation.

However as the wedding drew closer, the actor said he started having second thoughts. He admitted that fear took over him as he became paranoid about the possibility of the car getting stolen again, said rather than expressing his concerns he chose to cut off all communication.
On the wedding day, Olaiya recounted how Tope and her husband tried reaching out to him but ignored their calls, left them with no choice but to borrow a friend’s car for their big day.
Olaiya Igwe confessed that regret set in almost immediately and to this day the guilt still weighs heavily on him, revealed he has sought Tope Alabi’s forgiveness countless times.
He thought back on a particular moment when he pleaded with her in the presence of veteran actor Olu Jacobs. According to him, she did not take it to heart, and Olu Jacobs tried to pacify him telling him it wasn’t a big deal that he only acted out of fear.
