Iya-Ibeji Omoarayele, a seasoned Yoruba film actress, has disclosed how she first met her husband before they were married and how their relationship was made easier by his choice to rent a room in her father’s home.
In a video that was posted on the official YouTube channel of Kunleafod TV during an interview, she made it known that she was interested in her class teacher and that the two of them started dating each other when he rented a room in her father’s house.
“It started as admiration,” she explained. “I was young and curious, and he was always respectful. When he became a tenant, we grew closer, and things changed.”
Her confession has ignited debate online, with many questioning the ethics of a teacher-student relationship, while others argue that such stories reflect deeper issues within society regarding boundaries and authority.
In her statement, she said, “My husband was the one who introduced me to film making. When I was a student in school, my husband was my teacher before we got married. He was the first actor in our school at that time, and he taught me how to act in movies. I had interest in my teacher, we started dating when he rented a room in my dad’s house.”
