Nollywood actress and filmmaker, Mercy Aigbe Adeoti has responded to criticism regarding her marriage to Kazim Adeoti.
She discussed how she feels whenever someone accuses her of turning her husband, a father of four, into a moron in an interview with her coworker Bimpe Akintunde on her talk program, Iriri Mi. As she asked how their lives were going, the mother of two made it clear that their disparaging remarks were meaningless.
Aigbe noted how people only talk when they are doing something good or are well known. She stated that one has to be at the top to be the topic of their conversation.
That’s just noise. Look close at those talking. How is their life? Definitely, people talk, and it’s when people do something good that they talk. If you’re not known, you can’t be their topic. You have to be at the top to be a topic. When I was young, I never thought my life would turn out this way. “

Elsewhere in the interview, Aigbe revealed that her family were against her remarriage, especially due to her age. However, she didn’t bow to them because she knew what she wanted. Mercy said she is the kind of person who loves to have a crown on her head and loves to be married.
“I love love, actually.
What you said now, a lot of people do ask me, even some family members. They would be like, I’m close to 50 years old; what am I looking for? But I believe everybody knows what they want. What you want might be different from mine. I know what I saw, and I know what I wanted. I am the kind of person who loves to have a crown (husband) on my head and loves to be married. Maybe, if I’m still in my baby’s daddy’s house, I wouldn’t be known as Mercy Aigbe”.
