Ronke Oshodi-Oke, a seasoned Nollywood actress, has openly commended her colleague Iyabo Ojo for her mature choice to invite her ex-husband to their daughter Priscilla Ojo’s wedding.
The praise comes as gospel singer Tope Alabi is coming under increasing fire for her ex-husband’s failure to attend their own daughter’s wedding.
Speaking in an interview with Oyin Momo TV, Ronke recalled Iyabo’s dedication as a mother and how her parenting choices have consistently reflected love and responsibility.
“I give kudos to Iyabo Ojo. When Priscilla and her brother were young, she was always going everywhere with them. She is a devoted mother. I now respect her more when I saw Priscilla’s dad at the wedding. I also learnt a lesson from her,” she said.
Ronke then shifted focus to the online backlash facing Tope Alabi, urging people to tread lightly before assigning blame. She noted that Tope’s daughter is 27 and may have played a role in the decision to exclude her father.

“Don’t let us blame Tope Alabi for not allowing the father of her daughter to be present at her wedding. The girl is 27 years old, maybe she was the one that didn’t want to see her dad. She is an adult. If she really wanted her dad, she would have insisted to her mum,” Ronke added.
While Ronke clarified that she does not support the exclusion of the father entirely, she emphasised the need for understanding in such personal family matters. She concluded by suggesting that in Iyabo’s case, Priscilla likely wanted her father there, hence his presence at the event.
