In his statement, he said, “There is no perfect relationship, but I believe that God reserved my wife for me because we understand each other very well, and I can’t remember the last time we had a quarrel. I always clean the house, I take care of my children, and I usually cook for my wife. On Christmas Day, I’m the one that always prepares the pounded yam that we give out to people. I’m taking care of my family because I was raised by a single mother and lacked my father’s impact in my life, and I don’t want my children to experience the same thing I went through.”

According to Sanusi, he had been acting since his secondary school days but never considered it a career. His initial dream was to work in a corporate organization.

However, after completing his tertiary education, he became ambitious and sought to travel out of Nigeria in search of better opportunities. His journey led him to Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, where he spent several years. While there, he joined a drama group, continuing his passion for acting even in a foreign land.

Sanusi revealed that his decision to return to Nigeria was influenced by his mother, who urged him to come back home because Nollywood was experiencing significant growth.

She pointed out that many new stars were emerging in the industry, and it was the perfect time for him to pursue acting seriously. Heeding her advice, Sanusi made the journey back to Nigeria, determined to establish himself in the Yoruba Nollywood industry.

In his words; “I’ve been acting since I was in secondary school; however, I never saw it as a job or a career path but rather as a hobby. My dream has always been to work in a corporate organization. After my tertiary education, I became ambitious and wanted to travel out of Nigeria for a better life. However, in my quest to travel abroad by road, I got stuck in Abidjan. I stayed in Abidjan for many years and even joined a drama group until one day when my mother called me and advised me to return to Nigeria because the Nollywood movie industry was booming, with several new stars emerging.”

“I obeyed her advice and returned to Nigeria. Upon my return, I met with Soji Taiwo and told him that I wanted to join the Yoruba Nollywood industry. However, he told me that he was not in any group but would give me the contacts of two prominent Nollywood actors who could help me. He gave me the numbers of veteran Yoruba Nollywood actors Yinka Quadri and Muka Ray. I called Yinka Quadri, but he didn’t pick up. However, Muka Ray answered my call, and I told him about my journey. We met at LTV 8, and he advised me to join his group. I did, and that was where I learned everything I needed to know about acting,” he added.
