Galatasaray have reportedly made significant progress in their bid to sign Victor Osimhen from Napoli, potentially bringing an end to a long-running transfer saga.
The Turkish champions have been locked in negotiations with Napoli over a permanent deal for the Nigerian striker. Talks had previously stalled due to Napoli’s insistence on the full activation of Osimhen’s €75 million release clause — a figure Galatasaray could not afford to pay outright.

While Saudi side Al Hilal are willing to meet the release clause in full, Osimhen has made it clear he is not interested in a move to the Gulf and has asked Napoli to deal only with Galatasaray.
The Istanbul giants initially submitted a €50 million offer, which was rejected. They were reportedly prepared to go as high as €70 million — but in instalments. Napoli, in response, demanded a bank guarantee to ensure the deal’s financial security.
According to Italian transfer expert Fabrizio, Galatasaray have now secured the necessary bank guarantee, allowing them to move forward with the deal on Napoli’s terms.
Potential Financial Risk
Despite the breakthrough, there remains some uncertainty. If Napoli stand firm on receiving the full amount up front, Galatasaray would face a significant financial strain. Proceeding under such terms could jeopardize their ability to register Osimhen or meet other financial obligations.
