As anticipation builds for the Club World Cup final between Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain, four clubs have already secured their places in the revamped 2029 edition of the tournament.
PSG earned their spot by winning the 2024/25 UEFA Champions League, sealing a dominant 4-0 victory over Real Madrid in the semi-finals before advancing to face Chelsea in the final at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.
Joining the French champions are:
- Cruz Azul (Mexico) – Qualified by winning the 2025 CONCACAF Champions Cup.
- Pyramids FC (Egypt) – Secured their place by lifting the 2024/25 CAF Champions League title.
- Al Ahli (Saudi Arabia) – Clinched qualification after winning the 2024/25 AFC Champions League Elite.

The 2029 Club World Cup will feature an expanded format with 32 teams. The distribution of slots includes:
- 12 for UEFA (4 Champions League winners from 2024/25 to 2027/28 + 8 top-ranked teams),
- 6 for CONMEBOL (4 Copa Libertadores winners + 2 top-ranked teams),
- 4 each for AFC, CAF, and CONCACAF (winners of each confederation’s top competition),
- 1 for OFC (best-ranked OFC Champions League winner),
- 1 for the host nation (yet to be announced).
This new format aims to elevate the global club competition, bringing together champions and top-performing sides from all over the world for the ultimate showdown in 2029.
