FIFA Sanctions Kenyan and Vietnamese Clubs Over Match-Fixing

FIFA has sanctioned two lower-division clubs from Kenya and Vietnam for involvement in match manipulation, ordering their relegation to the third tier, the governing body announced on Friday.

Kenyan side Muhoroni Youth was found guilty of manipulating matches and has been expelled from the second-tier National Super League. FIFA’s Disciplinary Committee ruled the club will be relegated to the Football Kenya Federation Division One League for the upcoming season.

Similarly, Vietnamese club Phu Tho was found guilty of similar offenses and has been expelled from the Vietnamese Football League Second Division, dropping to the third tier as a result.

Both clubs have been formally notified of the sanctions and retain the right to appeal the decisions.
