Everton Nearing Deal for Fulham Right-Back Kenny Tete

Everton are nearing a deal for Fulham right-back Kenny Tete, with manager David Moyes making the position a key priority in his summer rebuild.

The 29-year-old Dutch international is out of contract at the end of the month, and while Fulham had hoped to extend his stay, Everton have moved quickly to make him their primary target. Talks are at an advanced stage over a three-year deal.

Moyes is seeking a long-term solution at right-back following the departure of 39-year-old Ashley Young, who was not offered a new contract, and with club captain Seamus Coleman’s future still uncertain.

Since Moyes’ arrival in January, Jake O’Brien—signed from Lyon as a centre-back—has been a reliable stand-in at right-back after being overlooked by former manager Sean Dyche. Scotland international Nathan Patterson has also featured in the role, but Moyes is aiming to add proven Premier League experience.

The Everton boss had previously been linked with Manchester City’s Kyle Walker, Southampton’s Kyle Walker-Peters, and Vladimir Coufal, who he coached at West Ham. However, Tete, who has made 14 appearances for the Netherlands and spent nearly five years at Fulham, has emerged as the preferred choice.

Tete’s blend of top-flight experience and tactical versatility makes him an ideal fit for Moyes’ plans as Everton look to strengthen ahead of the new season.
