Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold has confirmed he will be leaving the Premier League champions at the end of the season, with a move to Real Madrid on the horizon.
In a heartfelt message shared on social media Monday, the England international revealed the emotional decision:
“This is easily the hardest decision I’ve ever made in my life.”
The 26-year-old departs his boyhood club as a free agent, having come through the Liverpool academy. Alexander-Arnold made 352 appearances for the first team, winning two Premier League titles, including this season’s. His list of achievements also includes a Champions League, UEFA Super Cup, and Club World Cup win in 2019, as well as two Carabao Cups, an FA Cup, and a Community Shield.
