Chelsea are reportedly prepared to listen to offers for two of their centre-backs during the upcoming summer transfer window, as Enzo Maresca prepares for a reshuffle despite a successful end to the season that saw the Blues qualify for the Champions League and win the UEFA Conference League.
The recent permanent signing of Mamadou Sarr from Strasbourg has added to the competition in central defence, though it remains uncertain whether the 19-year-old will be fast-tracked into the first team. Another decision awaits on Renato Veiga, who impressed at centre-back during his loan spell at Juventus and with Portugal, although Maresca reportedly views him as a versatile squad option rather than a specialist defender.

According to Football Insider, Chelsea are particularly open to offers for two French centre-backs: Benoît Badiashile and Axel Disasi.

Badiashile, who is expected to be part of Chelsea’s squad for the Club World Cup, currently finds himself lower in the pecking order despite a strong showing in the Conference League. His limited Premier League appearances — just five last season — suggest he may not be a central figure in Maresca’s long-term plans.
Disasi’s situation is more clear-cut. Having been loaned to Aston Villa in January, where he made 10 appearances, the 27-year-old failed to convince the Midlands club to pursue a permanent deal. Now back at Stamford Bridge, he appears surplus to requirements.
What Kind of Offers Are Chelsea Looking For?
Badiashile and Disasi cost Chelsea a combined total of around £70 million when they were signed from Monaco in 2023. However, the Blues are unlikely to recoup anything close to that amount in today’s market.
With both players under long-term contracts — running until 2030 and 2029 respectively — Chelsea may consider loan deals, especially if they include a future purchase option. The club is reportedly looking for offers in the region of £20 million to £25 million for each player, but loan proposals may be more realistic in the current market.
However, any loans would impact Chelsea’s limited foreign loan slots, which the club ideally prefers to reserve for younger prospects with long-term potential.
As Maresca shapes his squad ahead of a new campaign, significant movement in the defensive department could be on the horizon.
