Chelsea have reached an agreement in principle with Borussia Dortmund winger Jamie Bynoe-Gittens, according to reports from France.

The 20-year-old English winger, who left Manchester City’s academy to join Dortmund nearly five years ago, has emerged as one of the Bundesliga club’s standout performers this season. In 48 appearances across all competitions, Bynoe-Gittens has contributed 12 goals and five assists, earning growing attention from Premier League clubs.

With Chelsea aiming to bolster their squad ahead of the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup, the Blues have made Bynoe-Gittens a priority target. Following the £30 million signing of Liam Delap from Ipswich Town earlier this week, Chelsea have now reportedly agreed personal terms with Bynoe-Gittens on a proposed seven-year deal, as per RMC Sport.
Negotiations between Chelsea and Dortmund are ongoing, with the two clubs still discussing the transfer fee. However, it’s understood that Bynoe-Gittens has a €60 million (£50.5 million) release clause in his current contract—activated after Dortmund secured Champions League qualification on the final day of the Bundesliga season.
Chelsea face a tight deadline, with the current transfer window set to close at 7 p.m. on Tuesday before reopening on June 16. The Club World Cup begins for Enzo Maresca’s side on June 16, when they face MLS champions Los Angeles FC.
Chelsea will then meet Flamengo on June 20 before concluding their Group D fixtures against ES Tunis on the same day.
