Manchester United have submitted a bid worth just under £74 million for RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko, as they step up efforts to secure the 22-year-old’s signature. The offer includes an initial £65 million plus £8.9 million in performance-related add-ons.
Despite a higher second bid from Newcastle United — totalling £69.7 million plus add-ons — Sesko is understood to favour a move to Old Trafford over St. James’ Park.
Talks between Manchester United and Leipzig are progressing positively, though no final agreement has been reached. The Red Devils are believed to have recently adjusted their proposal to better match Leipzig’s valuation, now aligning their base fee closer to £69.6 million (€80 million), with potential add-ons.

Newcastle had earlier submitted a similar guaranteed offer of £69.6 million, which meets Leipzig’s financial expectations. However, Sesko’s preference for United could prove decisive as negotiations continue.
The structure of United’s bid remains under discussion, and Leipzig have yet to formally accept the terms.
