Arsenal are preparing for a hectic summer transfer window, with several attacking reinforcements expected to join the squad, and they’ve now been linked with a surprising move for Manchester United winger Antony, who is currently on loan at Real Betis.
While fans are eager for a new number nine, with sporting director Andrea Berta focusing on securing Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting CP, the Gunners also need more creativity and unpredictability in wide areas to enhance their attacking play.
Mikel Arteta has long been linked with players like Nico Williams of Athletic Club, and other wingers such as Rafael Leao and Ademola Lookman are reportedly on the club’s radar. However, few would have expected Antony to be a target as part of Arsenal’s attacking overhaul for the 2025/26 season.

According to Brazilian outlet UOL, Arsenal are one of several clubs that have inquired about Antony’s availability for a potential summer transfer. Despite being Manchester United’s second most expensive signing ever, the winger has struggled to meet expectations at Old Trafford and was loaned to Betis in January.
Escaping the pressure that came with his high-profile move to Manchester, Antony has impressed in Spain under Manuel Pellegrini. He’s contributed five goals in 12 La Liga appearances and has been pivotal in Betis’ push for the Conference League final, scoring in their semi-final win over Fiorentina.
Despite his positive spell in La Liga, Antony has no future at Manchester United, and a permanent departure this summer is almost certain. While the Red Devils are unlikely to recoup the £86 million paid to Ajax in 2022, a sale in the range of £25 million to £35 million is expected, with his strong form at Betis boosting his market value.
Though Arsenal have shown interest, a return to La Liga could also be on the cards, with Atletico Madrid reportedly keeping tabs on the Brazilian, while Betis may look to secure a permanent deal.
