Liverpool manager Arne Slot has reassured fans to trust the club’s approach to the transfer window as he awaits his first signing of the new year.
Since Slot’s arrival in the summer, Liverpool has been relatively quiet in the transfer market. Goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili was signed from Valencia and loaned back immediately as the club plans for life beyond Alisson. Backup winger Federico Chiesa was a late addition, though injuries have limited his appearances.
With no new signings yet this month and few rumors linking the club to fresh faces, concerns have started to surface among fans who worry that an injury to a key player could derail their Premier League title challenge.

However, Slot remains confident, urging supporters to look ahead to the summer for reinforcements.
“Liverpool should always be competing for a league title, we should always be competing for the Champions League,” Slot told Football Focus. “I’m hoping I will be able to keep the club at that level.”
“I know people sometimes question this because they haven’t seen us doing a lot in the transfer market in the summer and now in the winter as well. There’s a reason for that — because we’re happy with the squad. But I do know we’re definitely working on strengthening in the summer.”
Borussia Dortmund winger Karim Adeyemi has been mentioned as a potential target, and Liverpool is also reportedly interested in Bayern Munich midfielder Joshua Kimmich on a free transfer. Meanwhile, Martin Zubimendi of Real Sociedad, who was a key target last summer, remains on Liverpool’s radar but has been heavily linked with Arsenal.
