Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou has confirmed that Dominic Solanke is expected to be sidelined for six weeks after sustaining a knee injury during training following the north London derby.

The 27-year-old’s injury adds to Spurs’ growing list of absentees, further straining Postecoglou’s squad after a challenging run of results, including last Sunday’s 3-2 defeat to Everton.

Spurs’ injury woes have left Postecoglou with limited options, with only 13 first-team players available for Thursday’s crucial 3-2 Europa League victory over Hoffenheim. The outlook remains bleak for Solanke, the club’s £55m summer signing.

“Based on the information we have, it looks like around six weeks for him,” Postecoglou said regarding Solanke’s condition. “Thankfully, no surgery is needed, and we’ll see if we can get him back sooner, but at this stage, it’s about six weeks.”

Ahead of Tottenham’s Premier League clash with Leicester City, Postecoglou addressed whether Solanke’s injury could impact transfer plans: “We’ve been aware of the situation with Dom for a few days now, and nothing has changed. These things were already factored into our plans.”
