Super Falcons star Asisat Oshoala has shut down rumours suggesting she plans to retire from international football.
Speaking to reporters after Nigeria’s thrilling 3-2 victory over Morocco in the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations final, Oshoala made her stance clear.

“I don’t know where that came from, but agenda must agend. I get it, but I’m not bothered. I’m still here. I’m still playing. I’m still doing my job. That’s what I’m focused on,” the 30-year-old said.

Although Oshoala featured in a more supportive role during the tournament, she was named in Nigeria’s final 23-player squad.
Since making her international debut in 2013, Oshoala has enjoyed a remarkable career—becoming the first African player to score in three consecutive FIFA Women’s World Cups.
The six-time African Footballer of the Year now boasts four WAFCON titles: 2014, 2016, 2018, and 2024.
