Former Manchester United defender Axel Tuanzebe has launched a clinical negligence lawsuit against the club, alleging he received improper medical treatment during his time at Old Trafford.
As reported by Sky Sports, Tuanzebe filed the claim on July 9, accusing United of medical mismanagement that he believes significantly impacted the trajectory of his career.

The 27-year-old, who came through United’s academy and made 37 senior appearances, saw his development disrupted by persistent injuries. His fitness issues began in 2019 with a hip injury sustained during the warm-up ahead of a high-profile match against Liverpool. Later that year, another injury — suffered during a Carabao Cup win over Colchester United — ruled him out for the remainder of the season.

Injuries continued to plague Tuanzebe into the following campaign, including a foot problem that kept him sidelined until January 2023. He was then loaned to Stoke City to regain fitness and match sharpness.
After parting ways with Manchester United in 2022, Tuanzebe revived his career at Ipswich Town, becoming a regular fixture in the squad. He made over 40 appearances during the 2023/24 season, playing a key role in their promotion to the Premier League. Despite being offered a contract extension, he opted to join Burnley on a free transfer last month.
Now representing the DR Congo national team, Tuanzebe’s legal action highlights increasing scrutiny around player welfare and the responsibility clubs bear in managing long-term injuries and rehabilitation.
