Nigeria’s Super Falcons were held to a 0-0 stalemate by the Fennecs of Algeria in their final Group B match at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.
Despite the draw, Justine Madugu’s side secured top spot in the group with seven points from three matches and will now face the Copper Queens of Zambia in the quarter-finals on Friday.

The nine-time champions dominated possession and created several chances, with Ifeoma Onumonu and Jennifer Echegini both going close in the first half. However, a resolute Algerian defence kept the game scoreless.

Nigeria found it more difficult to break down Algeria after the break, struggling to create clear-cut opportunities in the second half.
Algeria, with five points from three games, finished second in the group and also advance to the knockout stage. In the other Group B encounter, Tunisia and Botswana played out a 1-1 draw.
