Paris Saint-Germain manager Luis Enrique has called on his team to complete their remarkable 2024/25 campaign with victory in Sunday’s FIFA Club World Cup final against Chelsea.
The French champions are on the verge of an extraordinary quintuple, having already claimed the Champions League and a domestic treble while playing some of the most exciting football in Europe.

With just one game remaining, Enrique stressed the importance of ending on a high note.

“We’re heading into the last match of the season with great momentum, and it’s crucial we finish this historic campaign in the best way possible,” he said. “It has been a sensational season—my players have been incredible. We’ve made history, and now we want to keep going.”
PSG’s success has come through a shift in philosophy—moving away from reliance on superstar names and instead building a cohesive, balanced squad.
“There are 11 stars in this team—we don’t want just one,” Enrique said, referencing the gold star the Club World Cup winners will be allowed to wear on their shirts for the next four years. “In fact, I’d say it’s 13, 14, 15 stars. The team is the star.”
Enrique, known for his humility, downplayed his own role in PSG’s success.
“I’m no star—I wasn’t as a player, and I’m not now,” he said. “I love what I do, and it’s wonderful when things go well, because we get to make people happy. But I’ve also performed well in tougher times, under criticism, and that motivates me more than praise.”
When asked if this has been his best season as a coach, he replied: “It could be—but we need to win on Sunday to make it complete.”
PSG head into the final as heavy favourites after demolishing Real Madrid 4-0 in the semi-finals. However, Enrique remains cautious of Chelsea’s threat.
“They’ve just won the Conference League, they’re improving, and they have some very talented players,” he said. “I really like Enzo Maresca and his style of football. It won’t be easy—we’ll need to give 100% to end our exceptional season the right way.”
