Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez has expressed concern over the extreme heat conditions in the United States, where the FIFA Club World Cup is currently taking place.
Speaking ahead of Chelsea’s final against Paris Saint-Germain, the Argentine described the high temperatures as dangerous, especially during their 2-0 semi-final win over Fluminense.
“The heat is incredible,” Fernandez said during a press conference on Friday. “The other day, I felt dizzy during a play and had to go to the ground. Playing in this kind of temperature is very dangerous.”

He added that the conditions affect not only the players but also the fans in the stadium, noting that the heat has noticeably slowed the pace of matches.
To help manage the intense weather, FIFA has introduced cooling breaks midway through each half.
Temperatures in some parts of the U.S. have reached as high as 95°F (35°C), prompting concern from players and coaches alike.
Chelsea will face PSG in the Club World Cup final on Sunday.
