Newcastle United have officially completed the signing of Nottingham Forest forward Anthony Elanga in a deal worth £55 million.
The 23-year-old Swedish international becomes Eddie Howe’s first signing of the summer as the Magpies look to strengthen their squad ahead of their return to the Champions League.

Elanga impressed for Forest last season under Nuno Espirito Santo, contributing six goals and 11 assists across all competitions. He originally joined the club from Manchester United in 2023 for £15 million and went on to make 82 appearances, scoring 11 goals.

As part of the transfer agreement, Manchester United are expected to receive around 15% of the profit made on Elanga’s sale, in line with a previously negotiated sell-on clause.
