With this result, Arsenal’s hopes of winning any silverware this season came to an end. The club had already lost the Premier League title to Liverpool, leaving them without a trophy this year.

Since Arteta’s arrival in 2019, Arsenal have failed to secure major silverware, with their last major trophy being the 2019-20 FA Cup, when they defeated Chelsea 2-1. The Gunners have since won two Community Shields but have fallen short in their pursuit of significant honors.
Despite the lack of major trophies, Daily Mail reports that the Arsenal board has no plans to sack Arteta in the near future. The Spanish manager has spent over £600 million on player acquisitions, including the £105 million signing of Declan Rice.
