Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana is reportedly open to leaving the club this summer and is currently in negotiations over a move to Saudi Arabian side NEOM.

Onana has faced heavy scrutiny following two underperforming seasons at Old Trafford, with his recent error-strewn display in the Europa League quarter-final against Lyon leading to him being dropped from the starting XI. The Cameroonian international has even been labeled “one of the worst goalkeepers in Manchester United history” by former player Nemanja Matic.

Initially, it was reported that Onana was determined to stay at United despite transfer speculation, but recent developments suggest otherwise. The club has been linked with several new goalkeepers, including Bart Verbruggen of Brighton and Espanyol’s Joan Garcia.

According to Foot Mercato, Onana is now engaged in “major discussions” with Saudi Pro League newcomers NEOM, a club recently promoted to the top flight and owned by the Saudi Public Investment Fund. The team includes former Premier League players such as Said Benrahma and Ahmed Hegazy.

While no agreement has been reached yet, Onana’s openness to a move is seen as a significant boost to NEOM’s hopes of securing the goalkeeper’s signature.

Meanwhile, Manchester United scouts are continuing their search for potential replacements, with Eintracht Frankfurt’s Kaua Santos and Royal Antwerp’s Senne Lammens both mentioned as possible options.
