Erik ten Hag, who has been without a club since his dismissal from Manchester United in October, has taken time to reflect on his next steps in football management.

Following his departure, Manchester United appointed Ruben Amorim as the new head coach. However, Amorim has struggled to make an impact, with the team currently sitting in 15th place in the Premier League—a far cry from the club’s usual standards.

Amorim’s challenges in implementing his tactical philosophy have led to a turbulent start to his tenure.

In a brief teaser from an upcoming interview for SEG Stories, Ten Hag revealed that he plans to wait until the start of the new season before returning to coaching. “I had already decided that I’m not going to be involved with any team until July 1,” he stated.

Looking back on his time at Manchester United, Ten Hag shared a deep sense of longing for Old Trafford and the connection he had with the club. “If there’s one thing I miss, it’s the atmosphere and the energy of Old Trafford,” he said.

He also spoke about the relentless pursuit of excellence in football, adding, “You’re always working towards a dot on the horizon, but you never quite reach it. We’ve had many highs, but there’s always room for improvement; doing just good enough is never sufficient. There’s always a way to do better.”
