Famous Yoruba film star Sola Olaibi, also known by his stage as Gaji, recently talked about a moving moment in his playing career that made him feel hopeless.
In an emotional interview posted on the Kunleafod TV YouTube channel, Gaji recounted an incident that shaped his perspective on fame and recognition in the competitive landscape of the Yoruba film industry.
During the interview, Gaji revealed, “There was an incident that happened to me in the Yoruba movie industry that I will never forget because it made me cry.”

He explained how he was invited to a movie set by well-known director Kunle Afod after another actress failed to show up. “[Kunle Afod] asked me to replace her,” Gaji said, revealing that this unexpected opportunity led him to emotions he had not anticipated.
However, the experience took a turn when an actress criticized Gaji’s involvement. “I cried, and I thought I’m a poor actor when an actress blamed a producer for using me in a movie,” he recalled.
Although Gaji was slated to appear in just one scene, the actress’s dismissal of his contribution hit him hard.
“She said that she will remove my own scene and do another one,” Gaji lamented, highlighting the harsh realities of the industry where talent often battles with perceptions of fame.
