Afeez Owo, a well-known Yoruba Nollywood actor and producer, has talked candidly about the events leading up to his marriage to fellow actress Mide Martins.
Owo stated in an open interview on Kunle Afod’s official YouTube channel that he and Mide had no romantic intents at first when her mother, the late actress Funmi Martins, passed away.
Reflecting on their early relationship, Afeez Owo stated, “When her mother died, I didn’t have it in mind to marry Mide, neither did she have it in mind to date me. We were just very close to each other and shared a lot of things together, including our ideas.”
According to Owo, their strong bond as friends eventually paved the way for romance, but it was not an immediate development. He recalled that at the time, he was involved in another relationship, which ultimately ended in Mide’s presence.

Meanwhile, rumors had already begun circulating about the nature of their relationship, with many speculating that they were romantically involved.
“As God would have it, the person I was dating at that time broke up with me in her presence. All that time, there were already rumors that we were dating. But later, after some time, God eventually brought us together, and we got married,” he explained.
