Well-known Yoruba actor Amuda Eko has talked about some of the things that happened to him and the late actor Murphy Afolabi, who was also his employer at the time. He also talked about how he nearly died when he and three unidentified shooters were ambushed while they were traveling to a filming location.
In a video that was posted on the official YouTube channel of Kunleafod TV during an interview, he disclosed that he was attacked alongside actor Murphy Afolabi by some unknown gunmen, and he was hit in the head three times with a stick, saying that they killed three people in the process.
In his statement, he said, “We were on our way to a movie set in the morning when we noticed that a car was following us closely as we drove to our destination. When we got to the hotel we were supposed to use for the movie set, we stopped, and the car also packed behind us. They brought out their guns and ordered us to remain silent, and
when they saw our faces, they said they didn’t know we were actors. I and Murphy were attacked by gunmen, I was hit in the head 3 times, and they killed 3 people. They asked me and Murphy to bring out money, but we didn’t have any more with us, and they threatened to kill us. One of our crew members stood up and ran away, so one of the gunmen became very angry, and he wanted to kill me. One of them quickly came and told him not to kill me and he told him that I’m a popular Yoruba actor.”
