Brighton & Hove Albion cruised to a commanding 3-0 win over Chelsea on Friday night at the AMEX Stadium.

“Can we play you every week?” sang the home fans, clearly relishing their side’s dominant performance. The hosts thoroughly deserved the victory, six days after securing a 2-1 FA Cup win against the same opponents on the same pitch.

Kaoru Mitoma opened the scoring with a stunning goal. Bart Verbruggen launched a long ball forward that seemed to hang in the air, but Mitoma’s first touch was nothing short of sublime. As the ball dropped over his shoulder, he controlled it effortlessly before calmly slotting it into the bottom corner, leaving the crowd in awe.

Yankuba Minteh doubled Brighton’s lead in the 38th minute. While not as technically dazzling as his teammate, Minteh managed to find the net, beating Chelsea goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen.

Chelsea made a tactical change at halftime, but it only seemed to make things worse. Minteh grabbed his second goal just after the hour mark with a neat finish, putting Brighton 3-0 up. The hosts could have added more as Chelsea fell apart in front of them.

In the end, Brighton’s 3-0 victory sealed their second consecutive win over Chelsea in this heated rivalry, moving them up to eighth in the Premier League standings, while Chelsea’s struggles left them clinging to a top-four spot.
