Mohamed Salah set a new Premier League record on Wednesday evening during Liverpool’s Merseyside derby against Everton.
The Egyptian forward started on the right side of Liverpool’s potent attack at Goodison Park, looking to continue his stellar form and help extend his side’s lead at the top of the Premier League table.

However, Liverpool got off to a rough start, conceding to in-form Beto after just 11 minutes. The towering striker converted a well-executed Everton free-kick to give the hosts the lead in what would be the last-ever derby at Goodison Park.
But Liverpool responded quickly. Just five minutes later, Alexis Mac Allister leveled the score, finishing Salah’s perfect delivery to the penalty spot.
Salah’s assist for Mac Allister was part of a record-breaking performance. According to Opta, Salah now has 22 goal contributions (13 goals and 9 assists) in Premier League away matches this season, the most in a single season in the competition’s history.
The previous record of 21 contributions was set by Andy Cole during the 1993/94 season while at Newcastle United, but Salah surpassed that milestone in mid-February.
With over 40 goal contributions across all competitions already this season, Salah still has plenty of time to further extend his remarkable tally.
