There was still time for one more, as the dazzling Ethan Nwaneri added a fifth, cutting inside and curling a stunning left-footed strike into the far corner to complete the rout.
This heavy defeat means City could drop out of the top four if Chelsea beat West Ham United on Monday, while Arsenal’s commanding win keeps them in the hunt for the title, now just six points behind Liverpool.
