Meanwhile, Juventus are working on their own signings, with director Cristiano Giuntoli recently in London for talks with Chelsea about Portugal international Renato Veiga. According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, it was during these discussions that Chelsea made their interest in Luiz known.

Chelsea are exploring midfield options after Enzo Fernandez and Romeo Lavia both suffered injuries, with Lavia potentially facing a lengthy absence. The Blues are now considering a loan move for Luiz.

As negotiations continue over Veiga’s future, Gianluca Di Marzio claims Juventus have been quoted a £5m fee just to secure Veiga on loan, with Chelsea reportedly seeking around £20m for a permanent transfer.
