The Nigerian home-based Super Eagles have been placed in Group D of the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN) alongside defending champions Senegal, Congo, and Sudan. The draw, held at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre in Nairobi, Kenya, has set the stage for the much-anticipated tournament, according to reports from Newsmen.

This marks Nigeria’s return to the biennial competition after a six-year hiatus, sparking renewed excitement among fans and stakeholders. Group D promises to be a tough test for the Super Eagles, offering both challenges and opportunities.

The 2024 CHAN will feature 18 teams divided into three groups, with the tournament being co-hosted by Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda. Other group allocations include:

  • Group A: Kenya, Morocco, DR Congo, and Zambia.
  • Group B: Tanzania, Madagascar, Mauritania, Burkina Faso, and the Central African Republic.
  • Group C: Co-hosts Uganda, Niger, and Guinea, with two additional teams to be confirmed later.
