Barcelona have finally been given the green light to register Dani Olmo for the upcoming season following a controversial injunction.
Olmo, who joined the club for £50 million from RB Leipzig this summer, had faced uncertainty over his registration for the rest of the season due to Barcelona’s financial struggles. The club has long battled to meet La Liga’s strict financial regulations, which have made it difficult to register players without compromise in recent years.
As a result, Barcelona was unable to extend Olmo’s registration, alongside teammate Pau Victor, as the club had exceeded its salary cap. There was also the risk of Olmo leaving for free if he remained unregistered.

However, Barcelona has now been granted a precautionary measure by the Higher Sports Council (CSD), allowing them to temporarily register both Olmo, who has attracted interest from several Premier League clubs, and Pau Victor.
“Good news for FC Barcelona. Dani Olmo and Pau Victor have been registered for La Liga, and are therefore available for selection by coach Hansi Flick, including for Sunday’s Spanish Super Cup Final at 8pm CET,” the club stated.
